Read below what some of our committee members and volunteers say about being a part of the Festival at Mount Si:
Why did you join the festival committee?
....the former committee was retiring and they were going to cancel the festival, so I volunteered to help
....to meet new people and become more involved in the community
....I was fairly new to the area and wanted to meet people and saw some areas where I thought that I could help improve the festival
What has been the best part of volunteering?
....The best part of volunteering is the great friends that I have made. People that I have met are not only a lot of FUN, but also community minded and that is a quality that I appreciate.
....I particularly like the festival weekend when everyone is having a good time and we can see that all of the hard work has paid off
....the people and starting new events that have added so much fun to the festival
....we laugh a lot and no matter the odds, we are all committed to making each festival a success
Why should someone else join?
....It's a great opportunity to give back to the community, meet new people and have fun. If you have a local business its also a great way to promote it and get your name out there.
....meet new people and to do something fun and worthwhile for their community
....if you want to meet new people or be a part of a great team
....if you have a strong interest in something the festival is doing or you think would make it better....its a great way to nurture that interest, passion or hobby.
....you really can make a difference. You have an idea for something to improve the festival you get to run with it. Additionally, if you just want to show up the day of and help out, there is plenty of need for that too. Basically, there are volunteer opportunities to fit every lifestyle.
Anything else you'd like to share?
....you hear that it takes a village (community) to raise a child, the festival is one way to give back. It's a fun and celebratory event that takes a lot of volunteers to make happen. Any amount of time is greatly appreciated.
